Pflege

In order to prolong the life of leather products, it is important to maintain them properly.

General
- Store leather products in a dry and cool place.
- Never leave leather products dry on a heater. This can cause the leather to dry out and crack.
- Use a boot stretcher to maintain the shape of the boots.
- Put on shoes or boots with a shoehorn.
- Do not use leather care products for faux leather or patent leather.

Outdoor boots
To protect new outdoor boots from stains and water, we recommend to spray them with HORKA anti-water spray after purchase. This colourless spray ensures that leather and textile remain water- and dirt-resistant.

Remove coarse dirt from the outdoor boots by wiping them with a damp cloth and, if necessary, use a soft brush to remove dirt from the sole. Let the boots dry before treating them. Treat the leather of the outdoor boots with a shoe cream or shoe polish and leave to soak in. Any excess grease can be removed with a cloth. We advise to spray the outdoor boots every two weeks with anti-water spray.

Some of our outdoor boots contain suede and/or nubuck leather. Suede and nubuck leather require special care as these types of leather are very susceptible to moisture, grease and dirt. Remove dirt from boots with a dry or slightly damp cloth. It is important not to rub the boots, as this will cause them to rub dirt into the boot. Let the boots dry. You can spray the boots with HORKA anti-water spray. We recommend to spray the boots every two weeks with HORKA anti-water spray in order to extend the life of the boots.

Riding boots and jodhpurs
To protect riding boots from dirt and water, an impregnating spray can be used. We recommend to spray jodhpurs and riding boots with HORKA anti-water spray after purchase and then repeat this every two weeks.

For the daily care of your riding boots and jodhpurs, the removal of coarse dirt with a damp cloth is sufficient. In order to maintain the shape of the riding boots, we recommend the use of HORKA boot stretchers. In addition to the daily care, it is also important to treat the boots and jodhpurs regularly. Let the boots dry well after wiping them with a moist cloth. Then treat the riding boots with a shoe cream or shoe polish and let it soak in well. Any excess cream can be removed with a cloth.

Horse equipment
To protect a saddle from dust, we recommend the use of a HORKA saddle cover.

In order to prolong the life of the horse equipment, it is necessary to thoroughly clean these products on a regular basis. Firstly, we recommend cleaning the leather with leather soap. Leather soap cleans, cares for and protects the leather. Then a leather balm can be applied, which takes care of the leather and keeps it supple. Finally, wax can be applied. This provides protection and preservation of the horse equipment.
